I am pleased to share that Dr. Matt Makley has accepted the role of provost and executive vice president for Academic Affairs at Metropolitan State University of Denver, effective May 1.
Dr. Makley has been a cornerstone of 厙ぴ勛圖s academic community for nearly two decades, serving as chair of the Department of History, former Faculty Senate president, and co-chair for the 2030 Strategic Plan development. A celebrated educator, scholar and campus leader, he is known for student-centered teaching, his deep respect for shared governance and his enduring commitment to academic excellence and workforce readiness. Over the past several years, we have seen multiple personnel changes in the critical role of provost, which has understandably led to frustration with disruptions that the turnover has caused. Its clear from my extensive conversations with faculty and staff members in recent weeks that our community is weary of time-consuming searches and desires continuity, stable leadership and a swift and transparent search process.泭泭
