What Do You Study in an Online Business Administration Degree?

Areas of Study

The online Business Administration B.S. gives you a broad foundation across the major functions of an organization. You’ll study accounting, finance, marketing, management, economics, business analytics and information systems through ÍøÆسԹϒs AACSB-accredited College of Business.

With help from a faculty advisor, you’ll also choose 21 upper-division business credits. This lets you combine subjects around a specific career goal instead of committing to one business specialty.

You can build your focus in areas such as:

  • Business analytics and research
  • Operations and project management
  • Product and customer experience management
  • Digital marketing or professional selling
  • Banking, enterprise systems or nonprofit management

This program can be especially useful if you already have professional experience, transfer credit or a career goal that crosses traditional business majors.

Skills You’ll Build

  • Understand how finance, marketing, people, technology and operations work together.
  • Analyze financial, operational and market information to support business decisions.
  • Use business software and analytic tools to answer questions and explain your findings.
  • Coordinate projects, evaluate tradeoffs and improve business processes.
  • Present clear recommendations to colleagues, clients and decision makers.

Faculty Who Practice What They Teach

Your online courses are taught by the same College of Business faculty who teach on campus. Their expertise spans entrepreneurship, marketing, finance, technology and organizational leadership, giving you perspectives from the different business fields you can combine in this degree.

For example:

  • Adam Melnick directs ÍøÆسԹϒs Center for Entrepreneurship and consults with Colorado small businesses. A licensed attorney and former senior entrepreneurship officer and in-house counsel, he brings firsthand experience in business planning, funding and social entrepreneurship.
  • Sally Baalbaki-Yassine chairs the Marketing Department and previously worked in international sales and customer business development for a Procter & Gamble distributor. She connects branding, consumer behavior, marketing analytics and international business.
  • Adam Schor is president and chief risk officer of an investment firm and previously directed global equity strategies at Janus Henderson Investors. He brings current experience in investing, asset management and financial decision making.

Will My Existing Credits Transfer to ÍøÆسԹÏ?

There’s a good chance many of them will. ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï accepts up to 90 credits of eligible transfer credit from accredited colleges and universities, and many Colorado community college students have access to guaranteed transfer pathways. Your previous coursework could put you well on your way toward finishing your degree.
