Metropolitan State University of Denver (ÍøÆسԹÏ), in partnership with Denver Health Paramedic Division EMS Education, offers a comprehensive Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) training program designed to prepare students for careers in emergency medical services.
This 15-week program combines classroom instruction, hands-on skills training, and clinical learning opportunities to develop the knowledge and practical skills necessary to provide emergency medical care. Students receive approximately 150 hours of instruction and skills training from experienced emergency medical professionals who actively serve in the field.
Through the partnership with Denver Health, students gain valuable exposure to emergency medical services in a busy urban healthcare environment. Training opportunities include ambulance ride-alongs with the Denver Health Paramedic Division and clinical experience in the Denver Health emergency department, providing exposure to a variety of emergency medical situations and patient populations.
The program follows the National Emergency Medical Services Education Standards and emphasizes patient assessment, emergency medical procedures, clinical decision-making, and effective response to medical and traumatic emergencies.
Upon successful completion of the program, students are eligible to pursue certification through the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT). Individuals who obtain National Registry certification may then apply for Colorado EMT certification, subject to applicable state requirements.
Take the first step toward a career in emergency medical services through ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï and Denver Health.
