Q&A with Alpha

What does a typical day look like for you during the semester?
It really depends. This semester I actually have all online classes, but I try to come to campus as much as I can! Coming to campus is nice because I am able to hang out and do my homework with my friends who are also in the College of Business, such as Ella Brooks.

What has your journey at ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï been like?
My Journey has been a little bit complex. I actually started in 2020 as a pre-nursing major but I didn’t really know what I wanted to do. So, I ended up moving to Boulder, then to Arizona, and then back to Colorado. I was only supposed to be here for one semester, but I fell in love with this school. Being in Business Communications really changed my journey here, and I really liked it here so I decided to stay.

What are you passionate about within business?
I am passionate about brining more diversity and women to business. In a lot of my classes, I am one of the only women. Also, within the College of Business, I love the student body and I like going to the events.

What are your future career plans?
For right now, I’m not too sure. I will say that I know I want to come back to ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï to do my master’s in accounting, and then I would want to open up my own CPA firm. Or I might want to do something in Marketing.

What clubs, organizations, or events have you enjoyed the most at ÍøÆسԹÏ?
I would say I really liked the ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï Women in Real Estate Panel event. I ended up mostly running the event and it was cool to see the women in real estate and also all of the students that showed up! I love events here, they are a great time to hang out with other students.

What advice would you give to new business students?
I would say everything is not linear, like no one has a perfect journey. I feel like ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï is not a typical university and everyone has their own journey. It is okay to be where you’re at. That’s what I like about going to school here. Enjoy being where you’re at and enjoy college because it does fly by!

What’s something that you wish you knew before you started college?
I wish I knew to use the resources offered by the College of Business, like the tutoring center. I will say the tutoring center actually opened up opportunities for me to get into leadership roles. So, I would say use all of the resources and go to your professors office hours.

What’s your favorite thing about being part of the College of Business at ÍøÆسԹÏ?
I love the community here, it’s just great. Also, I love the advisors and the professors, everyone here is amazing!
