What is FosterEd?

FosterEd is a Colorado state program designed to ensure that eligible current and former foster youth can pursue higher education without the burden of tuition and attendance costs. Under Colorado law, public colleges, universities, and technical schools across the state cover up to the full cost of attendance after all other grants and scholarships are applied.

FosterEd helps cover expenses including:

  • Tuition and mandatory campus fees
  • On-campus or off-campus housing
  • Food and meal plans
  • Textbooks and course supplies
  • Transportation and school-related living expenses

Students can receive funding for up to 132 semester credit hours (or 198 quarter credit hours) after enrolling in the program. There is no upper age limit to participate.
