Teaching Interests

My interests are in the areas of supporting teacher candidates to bring learning of research based practices into their classrooms. I believe in coaching new teachers to create the best learning opportunities for students to incorporate their learning into the classroom. I am particularly interested in teacher retention, especially in the area of Special Education, and I believe that a strong foundation in practice and supports in the first years of teaching. I also have a strong desire and interest in the area of the Science of Reading and the impact of learning to read on student's academic development.
