Transfer Course Evaluations
After ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï receives a transfer students’ official transcripts from other institutions, the ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï Transcript Evaluators make the determination as to how the courses taken elsewhere will transfer in. In some cases, they need to have the experts within the Department of Biology perform the evaluation.
When a transfer course does not have an equivalent course at ÍøÆسԹÏ, a lower division course will be given the number 8000 and an upper division course will be given the number 9000 (with the BIO prefix). Please see a Biology Advisor to discuss how such a course might apply to your degree.
If you have any previous college credit, please order official transcripts to be sent to [email protected], so they can be evaluated and the credit can be posted to your record.

If you have already submitted official transcripts to the Transfer Services team and have questions concerning how your Biology courses did (or did not) transfer in, you may reach out to the Biology department chair to request that they review the course(s) in question. Please see the next section for further instruction.
In order to have your Biology transfer course(s) evaluated, please submit the following to the Biology interim department chair, Dr. Jennifer Gagliardi-Seeley, at [email protected];
- a course description,
- unofficial transcripts,
- and, preferably, for an accurate assessment, a detailed course syllabus.
Note that incomplete requests cannot be considered until all required documents are received. If it is determined that your transfer course is equivalent to one of our courses, the department chair will initiate a Transfer Course Approval form on your behalf.
Transfer course evaluations are done in the order in which complete requests are received; please have patience when waiting for a reply.
Please fill out our and attach your unofficial transcripts. We’ll take a look to determine if your transfer course is equivalent to the prerequisite(s) for the class you’re requesting. If it is determined that your transfer course is equivalent, we can add an override to the system that will allow you to register.
Override requests are processed in the order in which they are received; typical response time is 1-2 business days. Please have patience when waiting for a reply.
