The minor in Africana studies at Metropolitan State University of Denver (ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï) offers students an engaging curriculum that addresses various dimensions of the global African experience.

Students learn about the contributions of African-descent peoples throughout history and develop a critical lens with which to confront the challenges facing contemporary Black communities worldwide. Our faculty place top priority on providing a rewarding educational experience to all students.

The Department of Africana Studies delivers all the academic content you expect from a bachelor’s program while also bringing to the table everything that’s unique about ÍøÆØ³Ô¹Ï’s people and Denver’s rich Africana community. Our students have the following unique opportunities:
